Making C.H.O.I.C.E.S. : At Risk Youth Camp

Camp participants engage in a series of workshops and sessions throughout the camp that focus on making positive choices in the areas of education, relationships, in the home, and in life. Participants go on field trips to local colleges and universities, funeral homes, and youth detention centers to see the real impact of making positive and negative choices. 

 

Objectives:

  • To increase graduation rates

  • To decrease high school drop out rates

  • To increase college enrollment among minorities 

  • To decrease incarceration rates among adolescents and young adults

  • To develop decision making skills

  • To decrease criminal activities among adolescents and young adults

  • To decrease teenage pregnancy 

  • To decrease rates of STDs among adolescents an young adults

  • To develop job skills

  • To promote character building
